If we chose clothing the way we chose charts, we would all look the same. How dull. My contention, there is no single right chart or wrong chart, that said, here is how I go about choosing.
So, if I were to create a bunch of these types of lessons and put them together into a graphic novel guide, would you buy it?

This is an AWESOME post-Chris. Something I have been working on is developing more brain-compatible ways to visualize Qualitative data. I read and follow many folks in the data visualization field who write about data visualization but continue to notice there is room to grow in this area. Currently hatching my own book for visualizing qualitative data. My testbed is the evaluation center where I work full-time and the evening Qual Research classes I adjunct. I have shared many of the graphic work you have done in my classes. My students love your work!

Visualizing qualitative data is definitely an area of need. I always find good ole fashioned illustration and good graphic design practice can do wonders for qualitative reporting.
