This is not a cartoon, it’s a conversation starter.
When I show this to a colleague or friend I get a story. Sometimes the story is about their first job in an office nowhere close to natural light. Other times the story is about being tied to a computer, trapped indoors. Not the usual “uh huh” or light chuckle, but something more, much more.
It was this cartoon, and the stories that it generated, that renewed my interest in cartooning. If something so straightforward could spark so many discussions, what else could it accomplish?

I have a window right beside my computer. I love my window. I love the natural light. It brings me joy. I can look at the comings and goings outside. I can see that there is a real world of people not staring at their computers at any given moment. And in winter, it makes the left side of me 20 degrees colder than the right and I shiver and wear strange one armed sweaters, but it is all worth it.

@susanjkistler I love it Susan, very poetic. I can picture the one armed sweater and it makes me smile. This might need a cartoon of its own, would you mind if I created one?
