Ignite
This is the first eval conference I'm attending where I'm not giving an Ignite. They're a lot of fun, did you give one yesterday, are you giving one? Isaac Castillo dropped an interesting perspective in the comments yesterday.
There were a surprising number of Ignite newbies in the audience of the session that I chaired tonight. There were some priceless looks on people’s faces when I explained the concept. And even more when I dropped this tidbit:Average human speaks at a rate of about 100 words per minute. Ignite slides advance every 15 seconds. That is only 25 words per slide – or 500 words for the entire presentation.

Good job #eval13 on solving the shutdown on day one, but correlation and causality is a difficult concept for some. Who has worked on measuring attribution of advocacy efforts for different entities for collective impact?
Stand Up

I’m not giving an Ignite presentation, but I definitely feel inspired to submit one next year at this point. It’s like the equivalent of stand up comedy for data geeks. Now…I just need to come up with a topic…

Decided to sit in a session given by Michael Quinn Patton. I don't think I've created any developmental evaluation cartoons in the past, so it was about time. Here's what I came up with.

Thanks for documenting the week! Its gone by quickly! Some quick things that you might interview people about that are happening in the halls: international buddies! (Our group I initially had some trouble remembering that phones wouldn’t be the best way to go…..especially of one of is didn’t have a smart phone) 2) the coffee bean/front lobby is Everyone’s meeting spot! c) the ever present program will have us all leaning to one side by the end of the week, except for one (genius) person that split hers up and had one day’s worth in a binder clip!

You inspired me to think about making a dog word cloud, but I found a few online!
Yeah, that’s one of the downsides of Google that’s not always discussed. So discouraging when you find out that someone stole your idea from before you had it!
Chris – the correlation/causation is certainly my favorite but your raining wordcloud and cat of accountability are running close second. Your cartoons are upping the cool factor for evaluators and AEA — and we are truly grateful!
